About Us
Childhaven International is a not– for profit, 501-C approved charitable organization. All donations are tax deductable. Our main goal is to help provide the needs of poor and needy children. Currently our main focus is in the country of Honduras, one of the poorest countries in the western Hemisphere.
None of the officers on the board of directors are compensated monetarily for their work. The only person who receives a salary is a woman in Honduras who helps oversee the program and disperse the funds. Aside from her modest salary, occasional printing costs, postage, and travel costs, the greatest portion of the donations goes directly to helping the needy children. For the past 2 years, approximately 82 to 85 percent of donations went directly to meeting the needs of the children. With your help, children receive food, vitamins, clothes, medical care and are able to attend school.
Childhaven International was established in 1992 after Dr. Bob Murray had been involved in mission efforts in Honduras. He was deeply touched during one trip when he saw at the side of a busy street in Tegucigalpa an eight or nine-year-old boy sitting with his back against a retaining wall and a five or six-year-old boy – presumably his brother – sleeping with his head in the older boy’s lap. Dr. Murray remembered his own boys at those ages, and he was deeply troubled by the fact that – but for the grace of God – his boys could have been born in just such a forlorn, forsaken situation. Soon after that trip, Childhaven International was formed to help some of those destitute children have the food, clothing, shelter, education, and medical attention that all children need and deserve.

Matt 25: 34-36 Then the King will say to those on his right, Come you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited me in; naked, and you clothed me; I was sick, and you visited me; I was in prison, and you came to me.
